M: The main cause for hair loss is not hereditary.
F : The main cause for hair loss is hereditary in 99% of the cases. As commonly believed hard water, dandruff, stress, vitamin deficiency, pollution, wearing helmet rarely causes temporary hair loss.
M: Hair fall can be cured by medicines.
F : Only USFDA approved medicines like Minoxidil and T. Finasteride will control the hair fall, postpone the hair fall to some extent but genetic destiny cannot be stopped. The other on counter medicines is of no use.
M: Hair Transplantation causes headache, problems to the brain and memory loss.
F : Hair Transplantation does not cause above mentioned problems
M: Hair Transplantation does not give permanent hairs.
F : Hair Transplantation gives permanent natural hairs.
M: After HT hair does not grow.
F : After HT hair grows lifetime, one can go for hair cut, apply oil, shampoo etc.
M: Stem cell, PRP are helpful to treat hair loss.
F : Stem cell, PRP, Laser Comb will help to some extent in the early stages of hair loss but does not give permanent hair.
M: FUE is better than FUT technique.
F : FUE is not better than FUT for several reasons. There is high transaction rate, the quality of grafts is poor, the yield is less, results in dot scars in the donor area, and thereby FUE will have inferior results compared to FUT.
M: The result of HT is immediate.
F : The result of HT will take around 1-1 ½ year for final appreciation.
M: Artificial hair replacements like wig, hair fixing, bonding, clipping are superior to HT.
F : Artificial hair replacements look unnatural, does not grow, and require regular replacements and maintenance. It causes lot of discomfort, irritation, embarrassing etc.
M: HT will cover the entire bald area with thick density.
F : HT will cover the bald area with reasonable density, if the recipient (bald) area is big then two or three stages of HT is required.
M: HT is very painful.
F : HT procedure is done under local anaesthesia thereby the procedure is pain free.
M: HT requires hospitalization.
F : HT is done as a day care procedure; person can attend the work from next day.
